Western Division commander, Ch. Insp. Roger Brydon retired after some 30 years of service.

But Mr. Brydon will not be returning home to his native England -- he has landed another top job at the Island's airport.

Mr. Brydon's Police career began in Northumberland, England where he served for six years before coming to Bermuda.

He continued as a Police officer and was involved with each of the Island's three divisions as well as the Traffic, Special Branch and Force Inspectorate departments.

"I have worked in many sections of the Police force and have had the chance to meet a vast cross-section of the community,'' Mr. Brydon told The Royal Gazette yesterday.

Married to Liz and father of Jillian, 16, and Fiona, 10, Mr. Brydon will take on the role of Aviation Security Officer at the airport next month.
