Mr. Burgess, 38, of Rosemont Avenue, Pembroke, was declared dead at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital on May 27, 1996, after being seen in Front Street and Par-La-Ville Road, banging his head against walls and railings.

It is thought he suffered a cardiac arrest.

Police Commissioner Colin Coxall later revealed crack cocaine was found in Mr.

Burgess's body and said a full investigation into the death would be conducted.

Yesterday a Police spokesperson said a file had been prepared for the coroner.

She added no new date had been fixed for the inquest.

DRUGS CASE ACCUSED APPEARS IN COURT CTS Drugs case accused appears in court A 37-year-old Pembroke man charged with importing drugs will be arraigned at Supreme Court on July 1.

Gregory Ryan Ashby appeared at Magistrates' Court yesterday before Senior Magistrate Will Francis.

Ashby was arrested more than two months ago on charges of importation, possession, and handling $70,000 in cannabis.

The accused was granted bail on February 24 but has not been able to post the $20,000 bond and was remanded in custody until his next court appearance.

TEEN CRUISE VISITOR IN COURT FOR DRUGS CTS Teen cruise visitor in court for drugs A teenage cruise ship passenger appeared in Magistrates' Court yesterday for possessing cannabis.

Matthew Dennis Hayden, 19, of Middle Town, New York pleaded guilty to having 3.42 grams of cannabis.

Acting Senior Magistrate Cheryl-Ann Mapp heard that Customs officer found a homemade cigarette on Hayden on May 26. A further search of his cabin revealed two plastic bags of "plant-like material''.

Hayden was fined $800 for the offence.

POLICE OFFER FREE U-MARKS FOR BOATERS POL Police offer free U-marks for boaters In an effort to protect marine equipment against theft, Police will sponsor a free U-marking campaign next week.

Mariners are urged to get equipment such as radios and fishing gear U- marked on May 31 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

U-marking will take place at Ordinance Island, St. George's, Barr's Bay Park, Pembroke, and the Somerset Police Club dock in Sandys.

MOTHER PLEADS GUILTY TO DRUGS CHARGE CTS Mother pleads guilty to drugs charge A 31-year-old mother of one pleaded guilty yesterday to two counts of importing drugs.

Acting Senior Magistrate Cheryl-Ann Mapp heard that Customs officers at the airport, acting on a tip, stopped Cherrie Rovina Woods as she returned to the Island on February 24.

They found 21.5 grams of cannabis in a clear package hidden in Woods' dreadlocks.

Police prosecutor Sgt. Anthony Mouchette said Woods was arrested and taken to Hamilton Police Station and charged with importing and possessing cannabis.

Mrs. Mapp ordered a social inquiry report and set bail at $2,500 with like surety. She also ordered Woods to return to court June 27.

CRUISE PASSENGER FINED FOR MARIJUANA CTS Cruise passenger fined for marijuana A cruise ship passenger found himself $400 poorer after he appeared in Magistrates' Court yesterday for possessing cannabis.

Donna Marie Mihalik, 27, admitted having 1.36 grams of cannabis.

The court heard that on May 26 Customs officers searched Mihalik and found a half-smoked homemade cigarette in her purse.

A further search of her quarters revealed a plastic bag containing "plant-like material'', Police prosecutor Sgt. Anthony Mouchette said. She was arrested and taken to Hamilton Police station where it was found to be cannabis.

MAN ARRESTED AFTER BREAK-IN AT CLUB CRM Man arrested after break-in at club Police are investigating a report of a break-in that took place during the early hours of yesterday morning at the St. George's Club.

A visiting couple reported that sometime before 3.00 a.m. a man entered their guest apartment and removed a handbag.

They gave a description that later led to the arrest of a 20-year-old St.

George's man. The handbag was later discovered, minus the cash.
