Just after 2.30 a.m. Police were called to a 40-year-old man's home on Tribe Road, Warwick, after he returned from working a late shift to find his living room window smashed.

Cash, a 32-inch Toshiba television and a video recorder with a total value of $1,200 had been stolen.

In the other incident, a 45-year-old reported that he was woken up at about 3.40 a.m. by a noise in the living room of his apartment in the Hamiltonian Hotel.

He investigated and saw that his screen door was open and cash stolen from a wallet he left on a counter.

ASON SUSPECTED CRM ED Arson suspected Police are investigating a suspected arson attack on a cottage in the grounds of the Whitney Institute.

Firefighters were called to the cottage at about lunchtime on Monday and discovered three small fires inside the building's lounge area.

The cost of damage to Rockdale Cottage, which is owned by the Whitney Educational Trust, is not known and Police are continuing their investigations.

AIRPORT FLASE ALARM FIR Airport false alarm Firefighters rushed to the Civil Air Terminal at 7.06 a.m. on Monday day when smoke was smelled in the US Customs area.

But when the three appliances and 13 personnel arrived at the scene the cause was discovered to be a faulty electric fixture, said Bermuda Fire Services spokesman Lt. Jon Thomson.

There were no flames and the Airport's duty manager was contacted along with an electrician.

WHEELS BIKES STOLEN CRM Wheels bikes stolen A thief threw a brick through a Hamilton cycle shop's window and made off with two mountain bikes this weekend.

Police spokesperson Evelyn James Barnett said Police officers went to Wheels Ltd. on Dundonald Street shortly before 2 a.m. on Saturday.

There they spoke to the store manager and a mechanic who said he had been riding past the store when he noticed one of its windows was smashed.

Both a red and a black male GT dual suspension mountain bike worth a total of $2,490 were removed through the hole in the showcase window.

Investigations revealed it must have happened between 7 p.m. on Friday and 1.45 a.m. on Saturday. A brick was found lying just outside the window and Police believe this was used to smash the glass.

CAR DRIVER INJURED AC Car driver injured A 34-year-old Pembroke woman suffered minor injuries after her car crashed into a wall.

The accident happened on St. John's Road on Saturday night when the woman apparently lost control of her car in wet conditions and skidded with a wall.

She received a bump to the head and bruising to both knees. The car, a Daihatsu Charade, was extensively damaged.

CRASH DRIVER SOUGHT AC POL Crash driver sought Police are looking for the driver of a car which crashed into school gates after spinning off the road.

The accident happened at about 11 p.m. on Friday on Glebe Road, outside the Victor Scott school.

The car was travelling south along the road when it mounted the kerb and collided with a Bermuda Electric Company pole and then metal gates at the school's entrance.

When Police arrived at the scene the person driving the car -- which was extensively damaged -- had disappeared and is still being traced.

GAS STOLEN FROM CAR CRM Gas stolen from car Gas, worth $35, was stolen from the tank of a 45-year-old man's car over the weekend when it was parked outside his home on Knapton Estates.
