The Sandys Parish cabbie was confronted by the crook after returning home and parking his vehicle near Cochrane Road. "The man demanded money, at which point the victim handed over some cash,'' said Police spokesman P.c. Gary Venning. "He was not physically injured as a result of the incident.'' The robbery occurred at about 5 a.m.

Police also dealt with a rash of break-ins on Thursday.

In one, a couple at a Sandys Parish hotel reported someone entered their room during the early hours and took several bags containing, among other things, cash, credit cards, passports, airline tickets and a wrist watch.

A visitor at a Pembroke hotel was targeted as well by a thief. She had some clothes and cash stolen during the night from her room.

The clothes included a white silk dress, black cotton sweat suit, red silk shirt and a pair of grey Bermuda shorts.

P.c. Venning said Police were also alerted after cash was stolen from a property near Camp Road, Warwick.

An 18-year-old Pembroke man was arrested yesterday in connection with the incident.
