Corporation of St. George's at the upcoming Extraordinary Election.

The announcement came yesterday from Returning Officer Robert Lewis.

The vacant seat in the Corporation is a result of the recent death of Leon (Jimmy) Williams.

Competing for the spot are Marica Caisey, William Davis, Kingsley Francis, Ivan Smith and Christopher West.

September 18 will be polling day and votes will be accepted at the Town Hall, St. George's, between 11 a.m. and 8 p.m.

Voters registered as of August 28 will be eligible to vote.

The Corporation consists of nine members. Presently sitting are Mayor Lois Perinchief; Aldermen Noela Haycock, C. Ross Smith and Terrence Roberts; and Common Councillors E. Michael Jones, David Raine, Louis DeSilva and Kenneth Bascome.
