Cheeky rugby players cautioned

Yesterday, Police spokesman P.c. Gary Venning confirmed that the athletes, aged 22 and 20, will not be prosecuted for alleged indecent exposure after they were arrested in the early hours of Monday morning for dancing naked on a roof in Burnaby Street.
"The two rugby players were simply cautioned,'' P.c. Venning told The Royal Gazette . "They didn't go to court (yesterday as scheduled).'' The two men, who were scrambling to find their clothes when Police arrived on the scene, were replacements for Canadian players who had dropped out of this week's World Rugby Classic at the National Sports Club, the president of the Classic, Mr. John Kane, said on Thursday.
He added that the pair had been promptly removed from the tour as a result of their nighttime antics.
TRAFFIC ADVISORY FOR ST. DAVID'S TFC Traffic advisory for St. David's Traffic will be diverted through the former US base during the early hours of Sunday morning.
Police yesterday issued a traffic advisor that St. David's Road will be closed between 4 and 6 a.m. to allow heavy equipment to be moved from the dock across St. David's Road onto the base.
For the next three months equipment will be periodically moved across the road, necessitating the use of traffic lights.
Police spokesman P.c. Gary Venning said: "We would ask that motorists drive with caution in the area of St. David's Road near the crossing between number two gate and the dock, and obey the signals even given by the traffic lights.'' REV. GLEN CAINES LEAVING POST JAL Rev. Glen Caines leaving post The Rev. Glen Caines will be leaving his post of Executive Director of Prison Fellowship Bermuda on November 30.
Rev. Caines is leaving to further his education overseas.
Prison Fellowship does not plan to fill the vacant position as they will be operating solely on a volunteer basis.
The organisation is looking for volunteers to join the ministry and anyone interested should contact Mr. Mike Barany on 295-1569.
BERMUDIAN SHOT IN FLORIDA BDA Bermudian shot in Florida A spokesman for the Melbourne Police Department declined to comment on claims officers had over-reacted. But he confirmed the officer who fired the shots.
Patrolman Vince Esposito was on leave while the incident was being investigated.
Meanwhile, MPs yesterday in the House of Assembly expressed good wishes to another Bermudian shooting victim -- Charles (Lyndon) Fubler, 24, who was shot in the head in Augusta on Monday and is recovering in the Medical College of Georgia.
Shadow Minister of Health, Social Services and Housing Ms Renee Webb asked MPs to send the Augusta College student a "get well'' card.
It was always a tragedy when young people were victims of violence, she added.
Former Premier Sir John Swan said violence was a constant worry for parents who sent children abroad.
The whole Country could share the pain over what happened to Fubler, he said.
