Condolences sent to Argentine president

condolences be sent on Friday to Mr. Carlos Menem, the president of Argentina, whose son Mr. Carlos Facundo Menem Jr., 26, was killed in a helicopter accident.

"Argentina is hosting the 12th Pan Am Games and Bermuda has a contingent there so it is fitting for us to send condolences there,'' she said.

Ms Gordon also joined her colleagues in sending condolences to the family of Mr. Raynold Cabral. Other Ministers extending their sympathies were: the Hon.

Quinton Edness, the Hon. John Irving Pearman, Mr. John Barritt and Education Minister the Hon. Dr. Clarence Terceira.

Mr. Edness also sent condolences to the family of Mrs. Gladys May MacDonald.

He described her as "the salt of the earth'' and an active member of the Warwick community.

Management and Technology Minister the Hon. Grant Gibbons asked that congratulations be sent to Internet Bermuda Ltd. who had made their computer service free to all public and private schools.

He said this would allow students to access academic and on-line bulletins and electronic mail.

Mr. David Dodwell asked that condolences be sent to the family of Mr. Albert Simons, who died at the age of 86.

He described Mr. Simons as an avid cricket fan and member of St. Paul's AME Church.

Mr. Dodwell also asked that congratulations be sent to Mr. Roger Borsink , general manager of the Marriott's Castle Harbour Resort, on being named hotelier of the year recently.

He also sent condolences to the family of Mr. Derrick Bascome, describing Mr.

Bascome as a "devoted husband'' and hard-working Bermudian.
