Herbert Johnson was involved in a collision on Friswell's Hill on February 9.

He appeared intoxicated and failed a breath test, Police prosecutor Sgt. Earl Kirby told the court. Johnson pleaded guilty to impaired driving.

Also in court on Friday, a Pembroke man was fined $450 and banned for 12 months after pleading guilty to driving while impaired.

Officers on North Shore Road, Smiths, were forced to swerve to avoid hitting a car driven by Darrid Durrant, 27, Sgt. Kirby told the court.

They followed the car which crossed the centre line several times. When they stopped it, they noticed Durrant's breath smelt of intoxicants, his speech was slurred and his eyes glazed. Durrant failed the breath test.

He was fined Durrant $450 and disqualified from driving for 12 months.

Also in court was Ramesh Simons, 21, who pleaded guilty to impaired driving.

Sgt. Kirby said Police officers spotted Simons driving his bike unsteadily on Middle Road, Southampton, at 12.20 a.m. on October 6. They noticed he was unsteady on his feet and his breath smelt of alcohol.

Simons failed a breath test. He was fined $450 and banned for 12 months.
