Cruise ship employee says he was attacked
sitting in Par-la-Ville Park on Monday afternoon.
The alleged victim told Police that he was sitting on a bench around 3.50 p.m.
when two unknown black males approached him and one of the men began talking to him.
The crew member said the conversation quickly became nasty and one of the men head-butted him. He tried to walk away, but before he could leave the park he was kicked by the man.
The alleged victim sustained bruising on his right forearm, but no description is available of the alleged assailant.
POLICE TARGET BEACH IN DRUGS OPERATION CRM Police target beach in drugs operation Three men were arrested in connection with drug offences at a popular East End beach.
As a result of complaints received from members of the public, a Police spokesman reported, officers attended Clearwater Beach at 4.30 p.m. and arrested a 24-year-old Hamilton Parish man on suspicion of possession of a controlled drug.
He was taken to St. George's Police Station and later released on Police bail.
In a separate incident later on, a 26-year-old St. David's man and a 25-year-old St. George's man were also arrested on suspicion of drug offences.
ARTIST GIVE LECTURE AT NATIONAL GALLERY ART Artist gives lecture at National Gallery American artist Terry Elkins will be giving a lecture about his work at the Bermuda National Gallery today.
The artist, whose disturbing painting "The Watch'' is currently on display at the gallery as part of the "The Art of Collecting Art'' exhibition, will explain the meaning behind the painting as well as discussing his role as an artist.
The lecture starts at 12.30 p.m. Admission is free to National Gallery members and $5 to the general public.
