Cyclists `Taught a little lesson'
the hospital was fined $350 yesterday and disqualified from driving all vehicles for three months.
Tokia Russell, 18, of Warwick, pleaded guilty to driving in a dangerous manner.
Prosecutor Sgt. Rex Osborne said Russell was seen speeding on Point Finger Road. He did not immediately pull over when the officers activated their siren. He sped into the entrance of King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, exiting on Berry Hill Road, where he stopped for Police.
Russell said he had been following a friend and did not know he had gone up a one-way.
Acting Magistrate the Wor. Kim White said he would give him the benefit of the doubt. But to "teach him a little lesson'' about the seriousness of driving dangerously, he said he would put him off the road for three months.
