headline a local youth group's annual drug prevention conference next month.

The CEO and President of the Community Anti-Drug Coalition of America, James Copple, and motivational speaker M.K. Durand Farley will visit the Island to take part in the Parent Resource Institute for Drug Education's (PRIDE) 11th Annual Drug Prevention Conference.

Mr. Copple, a leading expert in the field of substance abuse and violence prevention, has been at the helm of the CADCA since its creation. CADCA was formed in 1992 by the President's Drug Advisory Council to promote and facilitate local response to drug problems in the US.

Meanwhile, through his talks with nearly two million youths and adults throughout the US, Canada and England, Mr. Farley has helped communities move from apathy to action.

The conference, which will be held at the Sonesta Beach Hotel on March 21 and 22, will also feature programmes for both youths and adults.

Registration forms for the conference are available at the Island's schools and at the PRIDE office on the second floor of Global House on Church Street.

Registration for those who sign up before March 10 will be $30. Those who sign up after that date will have to pay $35.
