Duty Free News International's October edition carried a short story titled: "Delay in DFI with Gosling's''.

The article stated that a political dispute has delayed the confirmation of a duty free contract between Duty Free International and its local partner Gosling Brothers.

Last night Gosling Brothers spokesman Charles Gosling said that his store was still waiting for parliamentary approval.

"If it was approved we would be able to offer duty free shopping for liquor and tobacco at the airport as well as a selection of other goods normally associated with duty free shopping.'' Initially the airport authority told Gosling brothers and DFI that they would be recommended as the exclusive duty free operator at the airport for ten years.

However since a political dispute over the award of a McDonald's restaurant franchise to former Premier Sir John Swan erupted, the entire issue has not been resolved.
