Four face attempted murder charges

four Pembroke men were charged with attempted murder.

Kendrick Winslow Zuill, 19, and Kenneth Jamal Zuill, 24, both of One Way Deepdale Road were charged with attempting to murder Roger Lightbourne along with Charles Maxwell Warren, 27, of Rambling Lane, and Frederick Norris Lee, 28, of Spanish Point.

The incident was alleged to have occurred on October 30 in the area of Mount Hill.

Additionally they were charged with unlawful wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and possessing a knife.

Each of the accused men was handcuffed while in court and taken out under heavy Police security.

Police officers frisked members of the public and Press as they entered the court room while outside, curious members of the public expressed outrage at being kept from viewing the proceedings. Later, scuffles broke out as the men were taken out of the court.

Senior Magistrate Will Francis denied bail for the men who will next appear in court on November 18.

Crown Counsel Leighton Rochester appeared for the Crown while defence lawyer Philip Perinchief appeared for Kendrick Zuill and Lee. Richard Hector appeared for Kenneth Zuill. Warren was unrepresented.
