department in the early hours of Monday morning was brought before the Senior Magistrate yesterday.

Mark Sinclair Wilson, of Midland Heights, Hamilton Parish pleaded guilty to using offensive words at the hospital.

He also pleaded guilty to refusing to leave the premises.

Sgt. Rex Osborne, prosecuting, told Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis that at 3 a.m. Police were asked by hospital security staff to help them in controlling rowdy youths demanding entry to the emergency rooms.

When refused entry, Wilson and others began to shout profanities at the security officers and ambulance crew.

Sgt. Osborne said Wilson then stood outside the hospital shouting: "I'll do what I want to do. This is Bermuda.'' He then made his way to a side entrance and tried to get into to the building.

He was stopped by security officers and Police.

Lawyer Mr. Phil Perinchief, defending, told Mr. Francis that Wilson was concerned about a patient's treatment.

"My client had assisted in bringing an injured man to hospital,'' Mr.

Perinchief said.

"He found himself caught up in the moment, and was over zealous. This is uncharacteristic of him.'' Mr. Francis replied that the reason the hospital had enforced the new security rule was because of similar actions by other people.

"The rule is for the benefit of all of us,'' he said. "If you were there to get treatment, you would want the doctors to be able to save your life without having to deal with this.'' Mr. Francis fined Wilson $200 for using offensive words, and $100 for refusing to leave the hospital.
