But Andrew Gavin Arorash, of Mount Hill, will only face another two days in prison because he had been in custody since June 1 and the Wor. John Judge ruled this should be taken into account.

Arorash had been remanded in custody for failing to appear in court on the scheduled date.

He had admitted possessing the pipe on March 5, but sentencing had been delayed for a social inquiry report.

The court heard he had a number of similar convictions.

A 39-year-old man received multiple stitches to a wound above his left eye.

A 41-year-old woman needed stitches to her head, arm and finger. She also suffered a broken tooth.

Both were treated at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, but later allowed home.

The incident occurred at Deepdale Road West at about 5.30 p.m. on Monday.

Police have appealed for the attacker to give himself up.

They urged him to attend Central CID at Hamilton Police Station, or ring Police on 295-0011.

FIRE SERVICE KEEPING BUSY THIS WEEK FIR Fire service keeping busy this week Firemen were called out at about 5 p.m. on Tuesday to tackle a brush fire off Pitts Bay Road, Pembroke.

A Fire Service spokesman said the blaze was caused by "controlled burning'' which got out of hand.

Earlier this week the service extinguished three small fires.

Four trucks and 18 firefighters were called to SK's, a former grocery store in Bailey's Bay.

The contents of two 55-gallon drums in the basement were on fire and smoke was pouring from them. The fire was quickly put out and there was no damage to the building.

It was not known how the fire was set.

The service was also called to a reported brush fire at Cashew City in St.

David's. It turned out the 300-square-foot fire was a controlled burn that got out of hand.

Firefighters were called to another brush fire behind Baptiste Builders Supply Ltd. on Khyber Pass in Warwick. They put out a 20-foot by 40-foot area of cane grass on fire.

The cause was unknown.

DRIVER NEEDED STITCHES AFTER ACCIDENT AC Driver needed stitches after accident A driver needed 12 stitches in his tongue after overturning his car on Middle Road, Warwick.

The 38-year-old Pembroke man was driving east in a gold Toyota Starlet when he lost control, mounted a sidewalk and flipped over, said Police.

He was rushed to hospital by ambulance and given 12 stitches in his tongue and two in his lip. He has now been discharged.

FORMER DEPUTY GOVERNOR HONOURED AWD Former Deputy Governor honoured Former Deputy Governor of Bermuda Mr. Brian Watkins has been honoured by the Queen.

Mr. Watkins, now British High Commissioner in Swaziland, has been appointed to be a Companion of The Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George.

His name was in the list of Queen's Birthday Honours announced earlier this month.
