Work on the second stage of the restaurant's expansion which began last year may now proceed.

Owner Mr. Andrew Allan said yesterday he did not know when additions to the restaurant's second storey, which went up last year, would begin.

"We are just continuing what we did last year because it was too much to do in one go,'' he said.

The DAB said the restaurant should provide parking space for 26 cars.

MAN JAILED FOR CHEQUE FORGERIES CTS Man jailed for cheque forgeries A 45-year-old Pembroke man received 12 months in prison yesterday after he admitted stealing six Bank of Butterfield personal cheques and using them to obtain $1,000 worth of goods.

Conrad Edgar Rogers of Mount Hill admitted committing the offences between December 3 and December 10, 1993.

Prosecutor Sgt. Peter Giles said Rogers stole the cheques from Mr. and Mrs.

Keith Bell and forged and uttered four of them for $250 each.

Sgt. Giles said Bell reported on December 15 that he left his business van unattended and the cheques were taken.

After closing the account, he was told someone cashed four of the cheques.

Rogers said he stole the cheques while he was driving around with Bell in the van. Once he had them he signed Bell's name as he purchased groceries at three stores.

The money and goods he received were never recovered.

Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis said that given Rogers' "horrible record'' for similar offences, there was no alternative but to impose a prison sentence.

WOMAN ROBBED CRM Woman robbed A Shelton Road, Pembroke resident lost a small amount of money, her driver's licence and other personal items after a man approached her and grabbed her handbag.

The woman, who had just parked her car around 11 p.m., said she was just about to enter her house gate when the incident took place, Police reported.

TEEN INJURED CRM Teen injured A 14-year-old Sandys Parish youth was yesterday recovering in the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital's intensive care unit after he was struck across the head with a rock after a fight.

The incident occurred around 4.20 p.m. on Wednesday on Scott's Hill Road in Sandys Parish.

Police are investigating the incident.

LITTERER FINED $150 CTS Litterer fined $150 It was an expensive bottle that Sherrit Hewey threw onto a Hamilton street on the afternoon of November 29.

Hewey, 23, of Devonshire, pleaded guilty in Magistrates Court yesterday to the offence of littering.

Prosecutor Sgt. Kenrick James said Police officers on foot patrol on Reid Street saw Hewey discard the empty bottle. They confronted him and arrested him for littering.
