Tyari Shawn Harvey pleaded guilty to breaking windows and making prank 911 calls with his friends.

Police Insp. Peter Duffy, prosecuting, told Magistrates' Court that Police went to St. George's Secondary School at 1.50 a.m. on May 9. They found a trash can set alight, and noticed some broken panes in the school's upper windows.

Acting on information, they went to Tiger Bay Gardens where they found some youths who were calling 911. The boys were detained, and admitted the offences.

Duty counsel Mr. Tim Marshall said Harvey's family "deeply cared'' about his welfare, and were making sure he had no further contact with the other boys.

Harvey attends a youth programme at Shelly Bay and is in the Junior League programme, said Mr. Marshall. Harvey's mother made sure he had little idle time.

"This is his first offence, and his mother had dealt with him,'' Mr. Marshall said.

Acting Senior Magistrate the Wor. John Judge said: "Everything a probation officer would do, his mother is doing.'' He gave Harvey a conditional discharge for 12 months.
