John Ty Jones, 27, who pleaded guilty to the offences, told Magistrates' Court he was angry at Police for impounding his motorbike.

They had arrested the wrong man -- his cousin -- for drunk driving on February 8, he claimed.

He had been driving the bike and his cousin was his pillion passenger when Police pulled them over.

"But they arrested my cousin so I went to the Police station to tell them I was riding the bike and to get it back.'' However, prosecutor Sgt. Earl Kirby said Jones started swearing at officers and refused to leave the station when he was told to come back at a more reasonable hour to deal with the matter.

"It was 3 a.m. and Jones was shouting `I'm not leaving until I get my bike back','' Sgt. Kirby said.

Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis fined him $100 on each count.
