Man and woman face drugs charges

in Magistrates' Court yesterday after Police allegedly found $155,000 worth of cocaine in their possesion this week.

Vincent Oneal Douglas and Janie E. Dayle-Smith were charged with importing cocaine on January 9, possessing the drug with intent to supply and knowingly handling cocaine with intent to supply on January 29.

Douglas, who is represented by Mr. Archie Warner, was charged separately with violently resisting arrest in Southampton on January 29 and escaping from lawful custody.

Dayle-Smith, who is represented by Ms Victoria Pearman, was also charged separately with wilfully obstructing Customs officer Ms Olivia Pitcher while she was executing her duty in St. George's on January 29.

Douglas and Dayle-Smith chose to be tried in Supreme Court.

Bail for each was set at $30,000 with sureties of $15,000.

They were forbidden from leaving the Island and are required to report to Police twice a week.

Their will return to Magistrates' Court for mention on March 3.
