Anthony Seymour is charged with importing 81 grams of the drug through Bermuda International Airport and also having cocaine with intent to supply.

Seymour, 30, of Sunset Pass, Pembroke, who is represented by Richard Hector, pleaded not guilty in Supreme Court to both charges.

The offences are alleged to have taken place on December 21 last year. The Crown is represented by Charlene Scott and the trial is expected to last several days.

David A. Swan, of Camp Hill Road, pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court on Tuesday to possessing cannabis on November 7 in Warwick.

Police prosecutor Sgt. Phil Taylor said Police officers were on patrol around 2 a.m. on Ord Road when they spotted a parked white taxi.

Acting upon information received, the officers searched the driver and Swan who was a passenger.

A plastic bag containing cannabis was found on Swan who confessed that it belonged to him.

Sgt. Taylor said Swan only had one previous conviction which dated back to 1986. Then, he was convicted of possessing cannabis and was fined $300.

Orris Baker, of Cottage Hill Road, pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court to possessing 0.25 grams of cannabis on October 25 in Sandys.

Police prosecutor Sgt. Phil Taylor said Baker's car was stopped by Police, on another matter, around 6.30 p.m. on the Middle Road in Sandys, and Baker was searched.

A package containing the cannabis was found under Baker's car seat.

Sgt. Taylor added that Baker had a history of possessing small quantities of cannabis.
