Leader Mr. Gilbert Darrell said the party is extremely concerned by the trends of violence on the Island.

Mr. Darrell said: "`Recent indicators are clear alarm bells that a dangerous social trend is gathering speed.

"Violence has leapt out of the domestic setting into the everyday experiences of the public.

"Not all this violence can be blamed on drugs, rather it is a dangerous breakdown in our social fabric.

"If this downward trend in civil order and mutual respect is evoked it can only be a progression to other weapons used in this new philosophy of violence first.''
