"unfortunate'' by the Acting Premier yesterday.

The Hon. Irving Pearman said most Bermudians disagreed with them. And he added the views "certainly run counter to those of the Government''.

The Nationalist Youth Alliance magazine -- being probed by Police Special Branch officers -- was discussed by Cabinet on Tuesday.

Some Government Ministers were not convinced youths were behind the publication.

The magazine, which has been circulated at Bermuda College, lashes Government and Premier the Hon. Sir John Swan. And it calls on blacks to start a "brutal'' freedom battle against whites.

Yesterday Mr. Pearman said: "This publication, The Nationalist, expresses views which are contrary to those of most people on the Island, and which currently run counter to Government.

"It is unfortunate that the author of this magazine has seen fit to circulate a document that recommends a violent solution to our lingering racial and other social problems -- when the Government has only recently created a new Ministry to seek and implement solutions to these difficulties.'' Not all Bermudians, however, go along with Government's views.

Hotel employee and ex-union activist Mr. Raymond Russell said most blacks would agree with The Nationalist.

Mr. Russell said Government needed to ask itself why education was failing blacks.
