A Police report in yesterday's newspaper mistakenly reported a break-in at the Southampton Princess Hotel. The break-in occurred at another Southampton hotel.

The family of a missing girl are fearful for her safety and have appealed to anyone who knows where she is to contact Police immediately.

Yesterday a Police spokesman reported that Ticole Swan, 14, of Cooks Hill Road, Sandys Parish, went missing on Friday morning.

She was last seen at 7.30 a.m. at her home wearing a Whitney Institute school uniform consisting of a green skirt, white shirt and socks and brown shoes.

But Police remind the public that she may not necessarily be wearing the same clothes now.

Swan is described as having a medium brown complexion, slimly built, about four-feet, ten inches tall and weighing about 95 pounds. Anyone who knows of her whereabouts should contact Police at 295-0011.

POLICE INVESTIGATE WEEKEND CRIME CRM Police investigate weekend crime Police were kept busy this weekend with eight reported assaults, 29 road traffic accidents, 27 stolen cycles, 14 cases of stealing and 11 break-ins.

In one case, a thief smashed his way through a glass window into DeFontes' Television Centre on Reid Street early on Sunday, a Police spokesman reported yesterday.

The thief grabbed several electronic items including an RCA camcorder before escaping.

Police believe there were witnesses to the incident and are appealing to them to come forward.

In a separate incident, a visiting couple staying at the Southampton Princess reported a thief broke into their room on Friday night, stealing a quantity of cash.

On Saturday, the owner of a white Mitsubishi Lancer with licence number 24893 returned to Par-la-Ville car park to find the vehicle missing. The theft allegedly took place between 9.30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Anyone who can help locate the car should contact Police at 295-0011.

Also on Saturday, a car parked in a Hamilton hotel parking lot was burgled. A wallet containing cash, a passport, driver's licence and other personal items were taken.

MAN CHARGED IN CAR REPAIR SCAM CRM Man charged in car repair scam An alleged car repair con man appeared in Magistrates' Court last week charged with six counts of stealing and fraud.

Stuart Gladstone Durham of Ord Road, Warwick pleaded not guilty to all six charges on Wednesday.

The total amount of cash Durham is accused of stealing since September amounted to $10,788 of which $50 has been recovered by Police, said prosecutor Insp. Peter Duffy.

But since the original charges were made, publicity generated by the media meant other fraud victims have since approached Police with complaints, he said.

Insp. Duffy objected to bail.

Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis agreed and ordered Durham be kept in custody until his December trial.

MAN ARRAIGNED CTS Man arraigned A man accused of trying to import drugs in a pair of shoes last year was arraigned in Supreme Court yesterday after missing an earlier court date.

Llewellyn Anthony Nesbitt, of Kitchener Close in Sandys Parish, was supposed to appear in court on November 7 to answer two charges that he tried to smuggle in morphine in the soles of a pair of brown platform shoes at the Airport last November.

When Nesbitt failed to appear, a warrant was issued and he was picked up by Police last week.

Nesbitt, who has denied the charges, will be represented in the matter by defence attorney Mr. Archie Warner.

A trial date was set by Chief Justice the Hon. Mr. Justice Ward for December 5.

SHIP DETOURS HTH Ship detours The captain of a cargo ship was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital on Sunday.

The Czech-flagged Trinec was on her way to Jamaica from France when the captain developed stomach pains, a Harbour Radio spokesman said.

The captain, who is from the Czech Republic, was treated by a doctor on board while the ship diverted to Bermuda. She stopped at Five Fathom Hole at about 10 a.m. and the captain was brought to the Island by pilot boat.
