The vehicle's windscreen was shattered on Saturday night in Curving Avenue, Pembroke.

Although uninjured, the women were extremely shaken, said Police spokesman P.c. Gary Venning.

"The type of projectile used has not been conclusively established, but the possibility it may have been discharged from a gun has not been ruled out.'' Mr. Venning said the car's driver -- a 39-year-old Pembroke woman -- claimed the incident occurred just after 9 p.m. She reported something hit the rear window, continued through the vehicle, and shattered the windscreen.
