through a ground floor apartment in Huntley Lane, Somerset, last night.

The fire started in the bathroom of the flat just before 8.30 p.m., causing extensive smoke and heat damage.

A male occupant was able to get out and raise the alarm and did not require any medical treatment.

A team of four fire engines rushed to the scene and were able to get the blaze under control within a matter of minutes.

But a Police spokesman said that they were treating the cause of the fire as suspicious and were investigating the incident.
