Senior Magistrate Will Francis was speaking to Annon Smith, 18, who admitted driving whilst disqualified, having an unlicensed vehicle and having no insurance.

Police prosecutor Sgt. Phil Taylor said Smith was stopped on Par La Ville Road after officers noticed his motorcycle was not displaying a valid TCD sticker.

It was discovered that Smith had already been banned from driving for six months after he was stopped speeding.

In court, Smith, who was not represented, had nothing to say.

In addition, Smith, of Crane Lane, Pembroke, pleaded guilty to doing 63 kph on a motorcycle on a previous occasion.

Smith was disqualified from driving all vehicles for 12 months and fined a total of $1,150 for all the offences.

Police prosecutor Sgt. Phil Taylor told Senior Magistrate Will Francis that officers had spotted Derrick Binns walking along a Hamilton street on April 11.

Binns was heard swearing and seen drinking from a beer bottle, he said.

Binns, 30, of Cricket Lane, pleaded guilty to drinking intoxicating liquor in a public street and to using offensive words.

He was given a conditional discharge for 12 months.

PRISON TERM AVERTED AFTER DEBT PAID CTS Prison term averted after debt paid A Warwick man who owed a $150 fine to the courts was warned he would spend 15 days in prison if he did not clear the debt.

Mark Roberts, 29, of Morgan Road, told Senior Magistrate Will Francis that he would pay the fine.

Roberts was brought to court on a warrant issued for motoring offences from March 1996.

He was fined a total of $150 for having defective tyres, headlight, and rear lights.

YOUNG DRIVER `LEARNS A LESSON' CTS Young driver `learns a lesson' A young driver who appeared in court on a driving offence said he had learned his lesson.

Jonathan Gaugain, 21, of North Shore Road, Hamilton, told Senior Magistrate Will Francis that he had been caught before and had learned from that experience.

Gaugain pleaded guilty to having no driving licence. He was fined $350.

DRIVER BANNED FOR ONE YEAR CTS Driver banned for one year Doing 71 kph close to Hamilton cost a man his driver's licence for 12 months.

Tideone Smith, of Ingham Vale, Pembroke, was stopped on a motorcycle on Crow Lane in December 1997.

Smith, 19, pleaded guilty to speeding.

Ezekiel Trott, 18, of St. Augustine Lane, Pembroke, pleaded guilty to both charges on March 23 before Senior Magistrate Will Francis.

Police prosecutor Sgt. Phil Taylor told Mr. Francis that Trott removed louvre window slats and entered the cake shop on Curving Avenue, Pembroke overnight on March 17 and 18.

Trott admitted he took $300 and used the money for food and taxi fare.

Yesterday after reviewing a social inquiry report on Trott and sentencing him, Mr. Francis said: "I hope the probation officers are able to help you. You are reaching an age at which you could get stiffer penalties.''
