The Development Applications Board has received an application from the bank for permission to make exterior and interior renovations to the facility.

These renovations will include the replacement of windows, new entrance steps and fountain, new east and south entrances, an enclosed ATM area and landscape works.

Bank spokeswoman Elizabeth Tee said: "The renovations include a new retail banking hall and the changes have been designed to reflect customers' needs.

"We anticipate that the external renovations will be an attractive benefit to the surrounding area.'' The main office's regular patrons will not have to do their banking at one of the bank's other branches when renovation work begins.

Ms Tee said: "There will be no interruption of service at any time during this period. Customers will be notified about upcoming changes as plans develop.'' And real estate mogul Donald Trump made a guest appearance, participating in a mock "Who Wants To Be A Billionaire'' game.
