a motorcyclist off his cycle, a man has claimed.

And now Andre Nesbitt, who is unable to work because of injuries sustained in the accident, is angrily speaking out against the driver.

"I want him charged with driving without due care, failing to report an accident, and failing to stop at an accident,'' said Mr. Nesbitt.

"We've got to have courtesy for other people on the road.'' The former Devonshire Colts soccer player yesterday told The Royal Gazette he was riding his Suzuki RC 100 motorcycle eastwards behind a bus on Saturday evening.

The bus driver turned into the Grotto Bay Hotel's bus stop, but then immediately pulled out again without stopping or signalling, said Mr. Nesbitt.

He added he was "scrambling'' to avoid the bus and had to swerve out of its way after his handlebars struck its side. He then lost control of his cycle after being forced into the path of an oncoming jeep.

Carla Minks, the driver of the jeep, supported Mr. Nesbitt's account.

"It was not a joke,'' she said. "He (Nesbitt) came out to overtake. As he came out, the bus came right back out.'' "He skidded right down in front of me,'' she continued. "It (the bus) never stopped, he didn't even slow down. He (Nesbitt) slammed on the brakes to stop running into me.'' And Mr. Nesbitt said he could see passengers on the bus telling the driver what had happened, and that the bus did stop briefly near the Shell Gas Station.

"He actually slowed down, and then he kept going. He kept going,'' Mr.

Nesbitt charged.

The battered and angry rider then followed the bus to the St. George's depot where he found the man talking with another driver.

"When I caught the bus driver up, he looked back and started laughing,'' said Mr. Nesbitt. "He told me: `You can still play football'.'' Mr. Nesbitt filed a complaint at St. George's Police Station and spoke with Public Transportation Board officials later the same day.

"Take the guy off the road,'' said Mr. Nesbitt. "Give him a broom and a push bike. Let that be his job.

"Let him see how it feels when somebody runs him off the road.

"It's time for the bus drivers to start paying attention. Bus drivers have got to give way to people.

"If he can't be courteous to people on the road, then he shouldn't be on the road.'' A Police spokesman yesterday confirmed a complaint had been filed and said an investigation was underway.

PTB director Herman Basden declined to comment, explaining that he did not know about the incident and would need to investigate.
