A trial date has been set for two Sandys men accused of murdering a widow last year.

Michael Dean Eberly, 34, and Michael Brian Pitcher, 31, both of Victoria Row, pleaded not guilty to murder and burglary on December 1, and will face trial in the Supreme Court on November 16.

They are charged over the killing of Beatrice Simons, 69, who died after suffering head injuries in her Cochran Road home on December 1.

Pitcher was represented by John Cooper and Eberly by Mark Pettingill. Crown Counsel was Peter Eccles. Both the accused were remanded in custody.

Christopher Anthony Lewis, 20, pleaded not guilty to charges relating to the importation of illegal drugs.

Lewis, of Stadium Lane, Warwick, denied importing cannabis, possession of cannabis intended for supply and the importation of cannabis intended for supply on March 7.

Bail was extended for Lewis, who was represented by Archie Warner.

Two men charged with armed robbery have appeared in court and had their cases adjourned for mention.

Rupert Archibald, 37, of St. Mary's Lane, Warwick, and Michael Dillas, 32, of Roberts Avenue, Pembroke are both accused of two counts of armed robbery each and two of using a firearm each.

They will appear again on September 18.

A Warwick woman will appear in court for trial on drugs offences on August 24.

Kenita Janette Lisa Furbert, 24, of Camp Road, pleaded not guilty to the importation of cannabis, possession of cannabis intended for supply and wilful damage.

A warrant was issued for the arrest of a Southampton man after he failed to appear in court.

Anthony Winslow Outerbridge, 36, of Riviera Road, had pleaded not guilty to doing grievious bodily harm with intent and grievous bodily harm.

Chief Justice Austin Ward issued the warrant in the Supreme Court yesterday.

A Devonshire man charged with sexual offences will face trial in October.

Milton Kenneth Jones, 34, of Devonshire is accused of the sexual exploitation of a young person and having carnal knowledge of a girl aged under 14.

Bail was extended for Jones to appear on October 5.

Chukwudi Onwusah, 33, of London, England, was remanded in custody on charges of conspiracy to defraud and stealing of $453,000 from the Bank of Bermuda.

Onwusah, who was remanded in custody, will appear again for mention on August 10.
