graded his Cabinet colleagues on how they are keeping their promises from the October general election.

"They have moved up greatly over the last six months from what would have been a tolerable B, to an A-, at this stage,'' Dr. Saul told reporters.

"None of them continue to be holding a zero,'' he said. "It's more than satisfactory progress.'' Dr. Saul, who has taken over responsibility for implementing the "Government Plan'' from Deputy Premier the Hon. Irving Pearman, handed "report cards'' to journalists and challenged them to track progress on keeping promises made in the United Bermuda Party's election campaign Blueprint.

He promised that all 111 promises in nine policy areas would be implemented before Government's five-year term expired in 1997. "That's what the voting public will be looking for,'' he said.

So far, 18 were completed, another 85 were in progress, and the remaining eight had proposed start dates, Dr. Saul said.

The promises include a national pension plan, enforcing clean air regulations, completing the Tynes Bay Incinerator, providing drug treatment, and creating a facility to celebrate Bermuda culture.

Dr. Saul handed journalists sheets with proposed completion dates for most of the projects, and said he would brief the media on Government's progress every three months.
