Karvell Burtan Eugene Durham, of Ord Road, Paget, admitted in Magistrates' Court to missing the `A' company parades between September 20, 1991 and April 8.
Assistant Crown counsel Miss Deborah Blakeney said Durham, who has been a soldier for two years, was "fully aware of his duty to attend parades''.
Durham was dealt with by his company commanding officer on three previous occasions for missing parades, she said.
If a commanding officer feels his powers are insufficient, he can refer the soldier to Magistrates' Court.
Durham told Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis: "I turned myself in because I knew it was wrong''.
Mr. Francis ordered him to return to court on July 6 when the social inquiry report is expected to be completed.

Brian Calvin Quackenbush of Sun Valley Road, Warwick, pleaded guilty to driving while impaired on 15 May, 1992.
Prosecutor Insp. Peter Duffy told the court that officers were called to the scene of a two-vehicle accident on Middle Road, Southampton.
Quackenbush was one of the drivers involved and when questioned, the officers noticed alcohol on his breath and that he had slurred speech and glazed eyes.
Quackenbush was arrested and an alco-analyser test showed he had 142 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. Senior Magistrate the Wor.

The court was told by prosecutor Insp. Peter Duffy that Brian Norcroft Roberts of Lusher Hill, Warwick, was stopped on Crow Lane by officers early Monday morning.
His car was seen swerving and when stopped the officers smelled liquor on Roberts' breath. An alco-analyser test showed he had 186 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.
Roberts pleaded guilty to driving while impaired and was fined $400 and disqualified from driving all vehicles for 12 months by Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis.

VISITOR LOSES $450 IN BREAK-IN CTS Visitor loses $450 break-in A visitor staying with friends in Pembroke lost $450 in a break-in, Police reported yesterday.
A Police spokesperson said the visitor, staying at a home on Miamba Lane, lost $450 from her handbag.
It is believed the thief entered the home some time on Saturday night. Thieves also removed $30 from Fantasea Diving Ltd., a commercial diving shop in Paget.
The spokesperson said thieves smashed a window pane on Saturday night and took the money from the cash register.
