Mr. Stavisky was due to have been sentenced yesterday by Suffolk County Superior Court, in Massachusetts, but the hearing was postponed due to a delay in the preparation of a probation report.

The Massachusetts Attorney General's office, which prosecuted the case, is seeking a prison sentence for Mr. Stavisky, who co-owns the Hamiltonian timeshare and condominium complex in Bermuda.

He faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison or $75,000 in fines.
