These same skills also helped me deal with the pressures and challenges in my professional and personal life,'' he said. "I believe the Bermuda College is (today) positioned to play a vital role in providing a higher level of education for all students.'' Jerome Dill, J.P., M.P. It also served as a very valuable transition period between high school in Bermuda and university overseas. There is no doubt that the programmes at the Bermuda College are today even more useful to students. I congratulate the College and urge as many Bermudians as possible to take advantage of a first-class facility which regularly produces first-class contributors to our community.'' Roger J. Looking back on his days at the Sixth Form Centre, Mr. Titterton can only note just how far the College has progressed. "When I left Saltus, the only avenue for further academic study was the Academic Sixth Form Centre,'' he said. " The buildings were not ready so we started in the St. John's Sunday School building. The books for the courses did not arrive until well into the first term. The school was set up for the "cream'' of local students but was off to a really bad start. Somehow, most of us got through and went on to various universities in Canada and the UK. "My impression is that the current Bermuda College is an outstanding achievement with excellent teachers and a wide and varied curriculum. It is hard to imagine the changes from St. John's Sunday School to the Academic Sixth Form Centre in Prospect to the new campus at Stonington and I think Bermuda should be proud. Young people today who do not have the finances to go overseas to finishing schools or attend the first years of university can do it at home at a very low cost, and high quality.'' Kim R. When he suggested that I compete for a scholarship to the College of Insurance, I had no idea what insurance was, let alone the career opportunities in the field. "I'm currently back at the College taking a course with Dr. Laurenceo (who is a fabulous teacher) and I simply can't understand why more young Bermudians don't take advantage of this wonderful facility.''
