child's school that the start of Summer Programmes 2000 began yesterday at 8.30 a.m.

The programmes will operate at the following sites; For those previously identified students who have just completed a year at Government pre-school: Southampton Pre-school, on Middle Road, and Prospect Pre-School, on Friendship Lane, Devonshire.

For those students in Primary Two, Primary Three or Primary Five or have just completed Primary Six: Francis Patton Primary School, on North Shore Road in Hamilton Parish, Paget Primary on Ord Road in Paget and Sandys Secondary Middle School, Scott's Hill Road.

For those students who are in M2 at Government middle schools or who have just completed M3: Francis Patton Primary School and Sandys Secondary Middle School.

These are the only sites at which the Summer Programmes will operate.

A Ministry of Education press release said: "These programmes are strictly academic in nature.

It added that the Summer Programmes 2000 should not be confused with the Summer Day Camp, which is sponsored by the Ministry of Youth, Sport and Recreation.
