will be distributed to students through the Education Department.

National Youth Council (NYC) spokesman Celia Tuzo said Here's the Vybe covers topics like free time, money, work, transportation, health and the law.

And it provides a glossary of useful telephone numbers and names.

The fluorescent green and black pocket sized book also carries a warning: "This might even be good for you.'' The book was co-authored by teenagers Anthony Wolfe and Dilawn Lambert over a three-month period and the idea for it came from Youth Development Minister Tim Smith.

Ms Tuzo said Mr. Smith, a former chairman of the NYC, floated the idea and the group took it and ran with it.

She said the council felt that as the handbook was aimed at young people, it should be compiled and illustrated by members of the target group.

The NYC underwrote the cost of the publication and presented 5,000 copies to Bermuda high school students through the Department of Education.
