A thief made off with two gold rings and a wallet containing credit cards and cash from a visiting couple staying at the Belmont Hotel.

The couple told Police they fell asleep in their hotel room with their sliding glass door open at about 9 p.m. on Friday. When they awoke the items were missing.

A visiting couple from Indiana were robbed while they slept at the Princess Hotel on Sunday night.

Police spokeswoman Evelyn James Barnett said the couple retired at 10.30 p.m.

and shortly before midnight the 46-year-old man woke up to see a figure at the sliding glass door who ran out of the door, jumped over the railing and ran away.

The couple discovered their black leather handbag containing personal items and a quantity of cash and a wristwatch had been stolen.

The suspect is described as a fairly tall, medium built man wearing dark clothing.
