This is why I would invite poet Maya Angelou to my house for dinner
If I could ever invite a famous person to my house for dinner it would be Maya Angelou, because her words inspire me, they are like the words of an angel.
After reading each poem you just have to say, "Wow! How does she come up with powerful, Oh, such powerful writing?'' I think she is like an uplifting spirit that speaks her mind into poetry.
Everything that comes out of her mouth and writing is inspiring to me. I just love her poetry.
I think she is the best poem writer that has ever lived.
Some of her poems I can relate to like "Still I Rise''. People get really jealous of me when I do something better than them, but no matter what they say or do I'll get better at what I do and "Still I'll Rise''.
When Maya arrives at my house I'd welcome her in with a carnation and a big hug. I'd introduce myself and let her pick the seat of her choice. I'd offer her some drink or tea and wait for the food to be cooked. When I think of Maya Angelou I think of chicken, bean, and vegetable soup. So I'd make that, hot chocolate, and tea. For desert we could have a freshly made bean pie.
While waiting for dinner which would be around 6.30, I'll show her around the house and show her the collection of her books we have.
After we eat I'd ask her questions like: Who inspired you to write? Do you have any other books that a coming out? Do you have children and do they too write? ext.
I'd tell her about myself and family, especially what I enjoy doing and also that I am a big fan of hers and that she has inspired me to write. I'm really looking forward to writing my own book of poetry just like Maya.
Hopefully I'd have fans of my own and people would learn from my writings.
I hope I'm just like Maya Angelou or little worse or better, anything to be like her.
It would be lovely and really a powerful learning experience if she could come over and talk to me about her life writing poetry.
That's who I'd invite if I could invite someone famous at my house for dinner.
