Mr. Martin was last night listed in critical condition in the intensive care unit of King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

Police are appealing for witnesses and the rider of a vehicle believed to be involved to come forward.

The accident occurred at about 12.50 p.m. near Tatem's Hill in Spanish Point.

When Police arrived, Mr. Martin, 28, was being taken to hospital with serious head injuries and there was no sign of any vehicles in the road.

But witnesses reported seeing a crash involving two motorcycles entering Spanish Point and said the victim was one of the riders.
