Visitor stable following cycle accident

A cruise ship passenger is in serious but stable condition in hospital after suffering serious injuries in a single vehicle cycle accident.
The accident occurred on South Road, Paget, near the Modern Mart around 4.45 p.m. on Monday.
The 51-year-old victim, who has not been named, lost control of a livery cycle and fell to the road, but did not think his injuries to be serious at the time.
After consultation with the ship's doctor he was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for examination.
It was revealed the man had serious internal injuries and was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit where he remains.
The incident was only reported to Police on Thursday and witnesses are asked to call P.c. Shannelle Smith at 295-0011.
