Youth denies theft charges

It is understood the teen is considered at risk of flight by the Prison Service -- having escaped from custody twice this year.
He was wearing regulation orange clothing normally reserved for adult remand prisoners.
The boy, accompanied by three prison officers, stood before Acting Magistrate Justin Williams in handcuffs attached to a waistchain.
He pleaded not guilty to stealing a $3,833 motorcycle from HWP Ltd. in Pembroke on January 15, stealing a $2,500 motorcycle from Yani Moore on February 7.
He also denied speeding in excess of 35 kph, a charge of riding while disqualified by age, and providing misleading information to Police when being arrested at Crow Lane, Paget on February 8.
The boy also pleaded not guilty to breaking and entering a Southampton home on January 22 with another person and stealing a brown leather wallet and cash.
He also denied additional charges of breaking into another Southampton home with another person on January 22 with intention to steal, stealing jewellery, including four gold rings, and one Gucci bracelet.
And he further denied breaking and entering stealing $7,524 worth of goods including four gold rings, and one diamond-encrusted gold bracelet from a Warwick home on January 10.
A final charge of breaking into a Southampton home between January 13 and 19 and stealing $30 and a wallet worth $50 was also denied.
Mr. Justin Williams set a trial date of October 25 for the cycle stealing and traffic offences and a November 1 trial date for the housebreaking offences.
He was remanded into custody.
