After-dark car park shuttle begins

The Bull's Head shuttle service will restart today to ensure after-dark commuters get safely to their vehicles.

The service, provided by the City of Hamilton, will leave from City Hall Car Park every 15 minutes and operates between 5 p.m. and 7.30 p.m.

After the shuttle service has ended people needing assistance can call for a security guard to escort them to their car.

Edward Benevides, Chief Operating Officer and Secretary for the City of Hamilton said: "Daylight saving time ended this weekend and so we have reinstituted the Shuttle Bus Service. The service is set up for people, especially women, who park in Bulls Head and would like to be escorted to their cars after dark.

"The shuttle service leaves from City Hall Car Park every 15 minutes and operates between 5 p.m. and 7.30 p.m. After the shuttle service ends anyone needing assistance to their cars can contact Safeguard Security at 292-2626 and a security guard will meet the person at one of Bulls Head's entrances and escort them to their car.

"I would also like to suggest for those who may work late in the evening, they can use the shuttle after 6 p.m. to collect their vehicles and park on the street near their offices. Parking on the streets is free after 6 p.m."
