Art competition will commemorate Human Rights declaration
Amnesty International Bermuda has launched its first art competition to mark the 60th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
The charity, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year, is inviting entries on the theme of human rights in two categories: up to 18 years old and 19 years and above.
Amnesty executive director Lucy Attride-Stirling said: "Our supporters are outraged by human rights abuses but inspired by hope for a better world.
"Help commemorate this important year. Be inspired and share your artistic vision of what human rights means to you."
Entrants can use any media with a maximum size of 15in by 22in and they should put identification on the back of the piece.
Entries should be dropped off by December 1 at Amnesty's office at 159 North Shore Road, Pembroke (above Peugeot Cars).
The judges are Tom Butterfield and Elise Outerbridge from Masterworks Foundation and prizes will be awarded on December 10. For further information contact Amnesty on 296-3249 or email aibda@logic.bm.
