A teenager beaten, kicked and punched by a gang of men is recovering in hospital.

The 19-year-old from Devonshire was initially thought to have suffered minor injuries in the assault, but his condition worsened over the weekend and he was admitted to ICU.

Police say he was set upon by "two or three young men with a blunt object" in Woodlawn Road, Sandys, at 1 p.m. on Thursday. He was also punched and kicked.

Last night however, his condition was described as "satisfactory" at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
