Belco, Bermuda Gass and Pureenergy companies unite for Haiti
Three energy companies have joined forces to raise money for Haiti while Digicel Bermuda has a concert planned to benefit the hundreds of thousands made homeless by the January 12 earthquake.
Through their combined efforts BELCO, Bermuda Gas and Purenergy employees raised $3,122 to go toward the Bermuda Red Cross' Haiti relief efforts. BELCO supplemented the sum by donating an additional $5,000.
Ann Spencer-Arscott, Director of the Bermuda Red Cross accepted the $8,122 check on behalf of her organisation.
And to help reach their goal of raising $100,000 for Haiti, Digicel will host a gospel concert tomorrow night.
The event will take place in Bermuda Institute's Auditorium and will feature a slew of gospel acts. All of the proceeds raised will go directly to Digicel's Haiti Relief Fund.
The line-up for the evening includes Grace Landy, McCartney Darrell, The Southampton Inspirational Choir, Neville Caines, New Season, Larita Adderly, Dwight "Pay Back" Warren, Desire Simons, Sia Spence, and LA Crew.
Tickets range from $25 for general admission to $250 for corporate tickets and patrons are encouraged to buy theirs early to avoid disappointment. Tickets are currently on sale at the Digicel store on Church Street, the New Testament Church of God, the Adventist Book Center and the Christian Bookstore & Gift Center.
