Bermuda College credits recognised in New England
Bermuda College Students will now be able to transfer earned credits to even more American schools — including Harvard, Yale and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
The College announced yesterday that it had been awarded accreditation status by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).
NEASC's Commission on Institutions of Higher Education is the accrediting body for 233 colleges and universities in New England, including several prestigious Ivy League schools.
Bermuda College is the first institution to receive accreditation by NEASC in the Caribbean and Latin America regions, and the seventh international institution.
Bermuda College President Dr Duranda Green said: "Accreditation provides proof of the quality education and instruction available at Bermuda College, providing Bermuda's students with the assurance that their transfer credits will be more readily accepted at four-year overseas institutions."
The College will officially celebrate the achievement on November 24 at 2.30pm with a proclamation ceremony and remarks from Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, Senator Kim Wilson.
