Bermuda College lecturer to present paper to conference

A Bermuda College professor's recent study on students learning styles has gained worldwide attention and will be presented in an upcoming conference.

Dr. Ameenah Ahad, coordinator of External Programmes at the College, will present her research to delegates at the Caribbean Area Network for Quality Assurance in Tertiary Education Conference.

The event will be held at the college from November 4 through November 6

Research conducted at Bermuda College confirmed that various segments of the student population had different learning styles, indicating that one teaching style would probably not be successful with all students.

The objective of the research was not to advise instructors to change their teaching styles to accommodate each student, but rather to make the student aware of their learning styles, thus empowering them to apply appropriate techniques to their independent study and learning.

Since 1984 Dr. Ahad has taught at both high school and college levels in the US and Bermuda.
