Driver flips his car on Knapton Hill Road; fails breath test
A 28-year-old Devonshire man flipped his car at in Smiths on early Saturday morning.
The man was arrested after failing an alcohol breathalyser when Police turned up to the single vehicle collision around 3.40 a.m. on Saturday.
The car was flipped over when the young man lost control while driving south on Knapton Hill after he hit the sidewalk near the junction of Skyline Road in Smith's parish.
The Devonshire man was not injured but the car was extensively damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
Cash and jewellery taken in burglary
Cash and jewellery were stolen from a St. George's home on Friday.
Police were called to the Old Maid's Lane's residence at 4.35 p.m. when the owner came home and discovered items were missing while she was out. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
Eight arrested on suspicion of impaired driving
Over the weekend eight people were arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. There were also five reported damage only road traffic collisions, six reported road traffic collisions resulting in injury and nine vehicles reported taken without their owners' consent.
Across the Island there were also eight reported burglaries.
