Victoria Street salon burglarised

A beauty salon on Victoria Street in Hamilton was burgled yesterday morning.

The salon's safe was broken into and an undisclosed amount of money was removed from the premises, a Police spokesman said. A door on the premises was also damaged and a payphone had its coins removed.

Police are actively looking into the incident and ask anyone with any information to contact Central CIU on 2950011 or the confidential Crimestoppers hot line on 800-8477.

PlayStation, laptops stolen in burglary

A PlayStation and two Dell laptops were stolen from a home on Greenwich Lane, in Devonshire.

A Police spokesperson said that sometime between 12.45 p.m. and 3.30 p.m. on Tuesday someone entered the house and ransacked the premises.

A resident came home to find that a 80g PlayStation 3, red laptop with webcam, a black laptop with webcam and a CD laptop had been stolen. In addition a gold citizen watch and long gold flat rope chain and a black, green and yellow backpack with Jamaica on the front were also missing from the home.

Inquires into this incident are underway.
