Cabbie robbed by gun-wielding man
A Sandys taxi driver was robbed by a man apparently wielding a gun after he was flagged down for a lift.
The incident happened at 10.30 p.m. on Thursday and according to Police, the 44-year-old taxi driver was working in the Devonshire area when he was stopped on Watlington Road East.
When he came to a stop the suspect, who is described as being a black male wearing dark clothing, approached the vehicle with what appeared to be a firearm.
The suspect demanded money and after the taxi driver handed over the cash, the suspect escaped on the back of a waiting motorcycle. The taxi driver was not injured and inquires into the incident are underway.

Two men arrested with controlled drugs
Two men have been arrested on suspicion of possessing a "significant quantity of controlled drugs".
The pair — one from Pembroke and one from Warwick, both aged 25 — were stopped and searched under new Police powers after being seen behaving suspiciously on Middle Road, Warwick on Thursday night.
A Police spokesman said: "When the motorcycle they were riding was searched, the suspected controlled drugs were found under the seat of the motorcycle. Both males were arrested and are presently helping Police with their enquiries at Southside Police Station."
Police would not disclose what the drug was or the quantity found but said it was packaged for sale.
Boy allegedly assaulted on Front Street
A 13-year-old boy was allegedly assaulted by a man during an attempted theft near the ferry terminal in Hamilton.
Police said that on Wednesday a 13-year-old Smith's boy was getting off a bus near the ferry terminal when a man tried to steal something from the teenager. But the man was not successful and fled the scene.

Police seek victim in hit-and-run crash
Police are seeking the victim of a hit-and-run crash which happened during a Police chase on Thursday.
Officers were pursuing a motorcycle on Berry Hill Road just after 2 p.m. when the bike hit an SUV travelling in the opposite direction.
The rider — a 17-year-old male from Pembroke — kept going and was apprehended by Police behind Devonshire Preschool. His bike was impounded.
A Police spokesman said: "Police were conducting speed checks on Middle Road in Devonshire when a man on a motorcycle was observed travelling through the area at an excessive speed. As a result a pursuit took place through parts of Devonshire and Pembroke."
The driver of the SUV, who was not injured, is asked to call P.c. Tyrone Fox at the Roads Policing Unit on 299-4390 or 299-4211.
Police, Fire probe car fire
Bermuda Fire and Rescue Services were called to a vehicle fire outside a Sandys' parish home yesterday.
Around 1.50 p.m. firefighters and Police responded to the report of a car on fire. It was extinguished, but not before the interior of the car was damaged. No injuries were reported and an investigation is underway.
