Police investigate three burglaries

Police attended three reported burglaries on Wednesday with the culprits taking electronics, cash and jewellery.

At 12.45 p.m., officers attended a home on Tablerock Avenue in Pembroke.

On arrival, the complainants said between 9 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. that day, an unknown culprit or culprits entered their home while no one was there and stole two Play Station 3 game systems, a laptop computer and a quantity of jewellery, cash and DVDs.

Later that day, officers attended a Friswells Road, Devonshire residence where the complainants told them sometime between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., a burglar entered their home while it was unoccupied and stole cash and jewellery.

At 9.20 p.m., Police officers went to a Rockywold Drive, Sandys parish home where the complainant said between 11 a.m. and 6.30 p.m., a burglar gained entrance to his home while he wasn't there and stole a silver Sony laptop computer and jewellery.

Police are investigating all three matters.

Police extend condolences to David Small's parents

The Bermuda Police Service has extended its condolences and "sincere sympathies" to PC Eunice Lambert and retired PC David Small for the loss of their son, 19-year old David Small Jr., who tragically lost his life in a road traffic collision on Monday.

A spokesman said: "Our thoughts and prayers are with them and their family at this difficult time.

"This incident underscores the impact that road fatalities have on all members of our community, including the Bermuda Police Service family".

Pembroke houses burgled

A home in Friswells Road, Pembroke, was burgled between 8.20 a.m. and 4.15 p.m. on Monday. The culprit stole cash.

And in a separate incident, a thief stole jewellery after breaking into a Swansbay Hill, Pembroke home.

The woman who reported the incident told the Police that the residence was unoccupied when the burglary took place between 6.30 a.m. and 3.30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Airport parking machines return to service

Long term parking pay and display machines at L. F. Wade International Airport will be back in operation on December 1 following an upgrade. The machines will now accept debit and credit cards for the $5 per day (or part thereof) parking fee. Members of the public who parked their vehicles before December 1 will not be charged or ticketed. The long term parking lot has 107 parking bays and there is an overflow lot with 77 bays at the eastern tip of the airport at the end of Cahow Way.
